Welcome – Ashley 

• Welcome any new volunteers, visitors, ..etc. 

 

Pancake Breakfast recap 

• A lot of good comments from the people there 

• • Food was excellent 

• • Lines were fast, very efficient 

• • Kids had a lot of activities to keep them entertained 

• • Many families came for a quick breakfast but ended up staying for 1.5 hours 

• • Kiwanis thought it was great that we brought in a young crowd, everything ran smooth 

• • Between 8-9 it was pretty full, another rush around 9:30-10:30 

• Good / todo again 

• • Onsite Senior Center marketing was great 

• • Dan Bauer sent info in school email 2 weeks before 

• • Music was good, need to designate a device to play it over bluetooth 

• • • Use a spare iPad 

• • Est. 450 people adults and kids over 3. 

• • $5160 in total revenue, expenses just under $1900, net was $3300. 

• • • Our expenses next year should be lower, don’t need a new banner or griddle 

• Improvements 

• • Put paper on floor around the mixer, up the wall too 

• • Have a bucket for drinks next to trash barrel 

• • Bucket underneath each igloo to catch spills 

• • Toppings bar wasn’t mirrored exactly on both sides, ketchup and syrup were on separate sides.  Make sure they are reachable from both sides next time. 

• • We should end at 11am next time.  The flow of people coming in after 11 really dropped off completely. 

• • Maybe pull the raffles during operating hours, 10:30am? 

• • Volunteers didn’t know when to eat. 

• • • We should stagger the shifts so we allow for people to eat 

• • Should we add a community showcase?  Other orgs (not regular businesses) have a table, run an activity? 

• • Move check-in table closer to the door to give more room in the Atrium for stuff to do 

• • Note next time that the pop-up library can check out books with your library card 

• • We didn’t need a raffle table monitor 

• • Maybe add a 50/50 raffle? 

• • Is it possible to get student’s personal email addresses to sign them up in our system? 

• • • See if Dan can promote to them to sign up on our volunteer page instead 

 

Ideas for volunteer appreciation 

• Food and drinks for volunteers at all events 

• Keep the tradition of the appreciation night in February for the most involved volunteers 

• Have a volunteer break area, tables and chairs, supply some pizzas or coupons for food at SNL 

 

Healthy Kids Day at the Y in April 

• We have been at Healthy Kids Day the last couple of years 

• • Have a booth and a little activity 

• • Always in April, all the YMCA’s do it 

• • April 26th 12:30-2:30pm 

 

Open floor topics 

• Add some kind of fall fundraiser 

• • A halloween themed brew fest kind of thing 

• • Need to identify a location 

• Fundraising from sponsors 

• • We have roughly raised $37,000 so far.  Targeting $65,000. 

• • Need a big push over the next month 

• • Someone noticed Peabody Lacrosse had a billboard on the highway 

• • • How did they get that if they got it for free?
